Our Mission Statement

Don’t let your carbon footprint be the only track you leave behind

This site will educate and inspire OW students through the use of new media and distribute hands-on sustainability tips easily applicable to their everyday lives. We will present both ends of the spectrum, praising inspiring green thinkers as well as condemning environmental villains, balancing our content with accuracy and humor. Among the concrete goals that we aim to achieve are:

- Spreading awareness of Sustainability
- Increasing recycling on campus
- Reducing food, energy and water waste

Behind, in and in front of this project are Old Westbury students. We act in the interest we share with all of the student body. Our target audience is narrowed down to comprise the students of the OW campus but does not exclude anyone else interested in sustainability issues. When choosing our channels for communication, we have taken the social media behavior of our target audience into consideration. We will utilize the platforms that they already frequent, including Twitter and Facebook.
